OpenAI ChatGPT vs Google Bard

Since the beginning of 2023, most tech and SEO news has been dominated by talk of artificial intelligence, large language models and chatbots. This, predominantly due to the launch of OpenAI’s extremely popular ChatGPT at the end of 2022 and the subsequent update, GPT-4 which was released in March 2023.

The world’s leading search engines quickly understood the potential these large language models had to disrupt their business and consequently decided to throw their hats in the ring.

Bing was first to announce the integration of OpenAI’s GPT-4 model into its search engine, providing a ChatGPT-like experience. Shortly afterwards, the Google vs. Microsoft battle began to heat up as Google rushed to take part in the AI race with the release of their own Bard chatbot.

But with all the different articles and reviews flying around, it’s a bit difficult to distinguish if the two are really that different. Does one offer an added value that the other can’t? Or are they essentially the same product with different names? Take a look at our handy infographic below to find out.
